At any given point over the last 30 years, I have had a variety of juicing/blending equipment. At this time, I own only a Vitamix (I've had it for over 25 years). For my juicing, I buy a great green drink that's available at Costco...at the present time anyway. And I use my blender for raw nut milk drinks or smoothies.

I do agree that juicing your veggies or fruit is the best thing, but when you don't have a juicer, you buy or you blend your own. You do what you can, when you can, however you can. And you don't judge yourself. If you have none of this equipment, you chew, chew, chew your food until it's liquid.

Ghandi said, Chew your drink and drink your food. That's what I'm doing right now. I have a plate of celery, chopped very small, and I chew it until it's liquid before swallowing. When your food is liquid before it goes down your throat, it is already pre-digested. Your stomach doesn't have to work as hard to digest it and it doesn't say in there long before it gets assimilated and what doesn't go to your body for nutrients, gets eliminated. It really is very simple.

When it comes down to the best choice for your body...choose wisely. You eat to feed your cells, not your mind or your tastebuds. Try the Eating Meditation under the Meditation link above. Your body not only absorbs the food itself, but also the memory and the vibration of that food. Whatever you eat, eat it consciously. Think good thoughts...always.

Juicing

My favorite juices are...for detox:

Green drink: 50% cucumber, 20% celery, 30% any sprouts (sunflower, pea). You can add lemon or ginger for taste if you'd like.

Watermelon: Gotta get this fruit when the season allows and I drink as much as I can. Drink or eat all your melons alone. Any raw food should be eaten before cooked in a meal.

For all around health, any type of juice is great. If you are working on getting all sugar out of your life or think you have candida (most of us do), then stay away from carrot, beets, and all fruits.

Just as I've gone through many phases of juicing/blending, I've also gone through a life-long journey of a sugar addiction and eating disorders. At this present time, I am off sugar...again. One of the ways to raise your vibration, is food. If you're doing your homework (the work you do to get home to yourself), your thoughts and your intake of food is key to your health and personal and spiritual growth.

Other juices I like (try out your own blends):

Cucumber

Celery

Any green leaf lettuce

Melon

Mango/peach/ginger

Smoothies

Fruit Smoothie

These are everyone's favorite. Make your own smoothie with any blender. I've had my Vitamix for over 25 years and it's still ticking! I don't use it to pulverize my greens or fruits; I leave it on for a short time or pulse it so as not to totally change the energy of the food.

2 servings
2-2 1/2 cups cold water or ice cubes
2 cups of strawberries, oranges and bananas
Turn on your Vitamix and ENJOY!!

2 servings
2-2 1/2 cups cold water or ice cubes
2 mangoes
2 pears
3 slices of fresh ginger
Turn on your Vitamix and ENJOY!!

Put any of your favorite fruit in the blender. Blueberries, raspberries, bananas, mangoes, pineapple, kiwi, pomegranates. You can drink Green Smoothies at any time of the day. Use any fruit you like. I buy many pineapples and cut them up immediately and store in freezer safe bags, core and all, and put in the freezer. I blend enough for three drinks, and then drink all day.

Drinks should be stored in the refrigerator. Or you can freeze your juiced 'green only' drink in an ice cube tray, and use the ice cubes for a green smoothie. I use my own fresh frozen fruit because the Vitamix mixes at such a high rate of speed, it tends to heat up fast, and I don't like to use ice cubes. A Vitamix is a must have for my kitchen. Green Smoothies
Drink Your Greens, Here's How!

Warning: drinking green smoothies every day can lead to more energy, a better night's sleep, weight loss, less cravings for cooked or unhealthy processed foods, and an overall clearer picture of life. Not to mention more cravings for green smoothies!

Victoria Boutenko, from her book, Green For Life, has this to say about green smoothies…
“Blended green smoothies are a simple and delicious way of accessing the healing properties of greens. Whether you eat a raw food, vegan, vegetarian, or mainstream American diet, regularly drinking green smoothies can significantly improve your health.”

What is a Green Smoothie:
Green Smoothies are blended raw greens such as kale, spinach, sprouts or lettuce, combined with water and fruit(optional). The best way to blend your greens is with a Vitamix blender (when you don't have a juicer). Blending to a liquefied form allows the body to digest this much easier than chewing. It's already digested!

To consume greens in this way takes so little time and allows your body to receive green liquid energy without having to chew. As a teenager, my daughter has consumed more green than she ever would have if it came off her plate or out of the pan. I used to blend morning smoothies for both of us every day. That was our breakfast. I knew, for me, if I couldn't be there to prepare her food for the rest of the day, that she started off the day with this powerful aid in healing, digestion, and nutrition. Now, at 26 years old, she is juicing, blending and very much aware of her food intake and how it affects her health.

For those of you just beginning this routine and feel this doesn't suit your taste buds, try adding any of the following to your drink (a small amount of any of these will dramatically change the taste of your drink. Keep experimenting for your optimal taste):
1 orange
1 apple
1 frozen banana
Frozen Strawberries
Frozen Raspberries
Frozen pineapple
Mango
Peach
Grapes
Melon? Eat them alone or leave them alone.
Or any other fruit you have on hand!!
Get the idea yet??

Here are a few more additions to a green smoothie that are definitely a stronger taste sensation:
Mint
Parsley
Basil
Cilantro
Garlic (I don't ingest garlic anymore. See more info here)

Green Lemonade

One serving:
Any of the following for your green or add a mix of all.
2 handfuls of organic greens (I use organic when I can get it)
Spinach
Kale
Romaine, red or green leaf lettuce
Swiss chard
any sprout you have left over from last night's salad
add either the juice of one lemon or peel and put the whole darn thing in the blender
2 cups of water
1 good squirt of flax seed oil or ground seed

Donna--
After tasting the raw green drink that you made me the other day, I was pleasantly surprised that it was so good. It looked so easy when you made it that I figured I could incorporate into my life at least a few times a week. So, before I lost momentum, I went out and bought a brand-new candy-apple blender--the color is amazing! I just christened it with the pineapple, spinach and banana recipe you showed me. It was amazingly easy. I surprised myself that it was so good. Thank you so much for easing me into this new way of eating without any lectures, or making me feel guilty about my eating patterns. Then because I was on a roll, I tried spinach, lime juice, grapes and pear, with a touch of agave.

Thank you!!!
